Things human beings do on Earth

by teachy

Human beings usually show their happiness by dancing. That is what NASA scientists explain in this post.

The guy dancing, Matt Harding, ran a project for a few years, Where the Hell is Matt, in which he travelled and danced around the world. You can read about his adventures and… dance!

Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Saint Patrick’s!

by teachy

It’s been a while since I last posted something here… Busy bee! I’m still rather busy, but I didn’t want to let this day pass without wishing you all a Happy Saint Patrick‘s day. Remember we’re having a party tonight at the Irish Pub.

Wear something green, collect some shamrocks, look for the pot of gold, and watch out for leprechauns!

See you later!

Happy New Year!

by teachy

Happy New Year, everyone!

New year, new life, new look. I hope you have all had a nice holiday. It is time now to go back to normal and to think of the future. Many people have the habit of writing plans for the future when a new year begins, our New Year’s Resolutions. This is what we’ll talk about this afternoon, for this we’ll listen to 6 Minute English, and we’ll try to follow Richard Wiseman’s advice to succeed in our improvement plans.

So, see you!

To practise your writing, you can send me your compositions, choose any of the following topics:

– Describe a member of your family, his/her personality, what he/she does, good and bad personality points, his/her hobbies, etc.

– Invent a fairy tale, “Once upon a time…”, or write about an old famous fairy tale (e.g. “Little Red Riding Hood”, “Cinderella”, “Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs”, etc).

– Write about your best or worst past memory, when did it happen?, what happened?, how did you feel?, etc.

Don’t forget to write coherent and cohesive paragraphs, check for grammar or spelling mistakes and show off, show how much you know by using as much new vocabulary and grammatical structures as possible.

And you know that you can try and meet foreigners with whom you can practise your speaking, or else, look for a virtual penpal in any of these websites:
Anglik Penpals
Students of the World
Language Penpals
More penpal links

Well, all I have to say now is that I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of love and nice things. I’ll see you this afternoon at the School’s Christmas Party.

Be good and happy.
